Zang-fu Organs
physiology
Zang-Fu is a system of functional organs in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that is not identical to anatomy. The five solid organs (zang: heart, lungs, spleen, liver, kidneys) store “pure” substances; the six hollow organs (fu: stomach, intestines, bladder, and triple burner) receive and transport food and fluids. Each organ is described in terms of its functions, connections to tissues and emotions, as well as its paired organ and meridian.
