Eight Principles (Ba Gang)
八纲bā gāng · Diagnosis
The Eight Principles are four pairs of opposites — Interior and Exterior, Cold and Heat, Deficiency and Excess, Yin and Yang — that provide the basic framework for classifying any disharmony. They summarise the location, nature, and strength of a condition and the balance between the body and the pathogen.
