Excess (Shi)

Excess denotes the presence of a pathogenic factor or accumulation, such as external evils, Phlegm, Blood Stasis, or stagnant Qi, while the body's resistance is still relatively strong. It generally produces acute, forceful conditions with symptoms that worsen with pressure.
