Date: 3pm - 5pm, Friday 29th September 2023 Location: In our shop at Portobello Green Arcade Join us in celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival: Tea and Mooncakes, a time of unity, gratitude, and the brightest full moon. Notably, the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture. On the palate, the festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. As a result, on this day, the Chinese believe that the Moon is at the brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn. Above all, lanterns of all size and shapes are carried and displayed to symbols that light people's path to prosperity and good fortune. What's more, teas Pairings: Experience the art of tea pairing as we present four distinct teas, each thoughtfully selected to complement the rich flavours of mooncakes. Our teas are chosen to harmonise with the mooncakes and create a symphony of tastes and aromas. Above all, mooncakes: Mooncakes are a classic Chinese pastry that comes in various types and flavours and There are regional variations too. Each type has its own unique characteristics and ingredients. Above all, for this session, we would provide few different varieties such as lotus seed paste mooncake, red bean paste mooncake, five kernel mooncake, Double egg yolk mooncake and freshly sourced made meat mooncakes which are made my dear friend Lillian Luk who runs Shanghainese private kitchen in London.
