Phoenix Dan Cong - Old Bush Honey Orchid
Our Old Bush Honey Orchid Phoenix is exceptionally special, expertly crafted and is one of my favourite Phoenix Oolongs’ that I have found so far during my 10 plus years of tea sourcing trips. On the palate, naturally fruity, peachy and floral with a slightly earthy undertone of small tree branches with round and deep mouth feel. Above all, the tea liquor is bright and light orange in colour, almost like peach juice or plum juice. In fact, the Initial infusion is light and clear with a soft sweetness that coats the mouth; During later infusions, the liquor gets more thick in taste and returns to an upcoming perfumed flavour that lingers for a long time after drinking as if you are having a spoonful of wild honey with fruity sweetness and floral notes. As a result, this is a tea for enthusiasts who enjoy a subtle flavour yet a deeper depth, a rounder fullness and more lingering sweetness, this tea is serious stuff and should be on your list to try. In fact, our Old Bush Honey Orchid Phoenix also known as Lao Cong Mi Lan Xiang is crafted in extremely small batches of leaf buds from special bushes individually processed by a very skilfully master, the tea has been re-roasted for twice after one year of settlement at low fire for reaching the enough depth. ORIGIN Tea Master: Wudong Mountain, Guangdong Province, China, while on the palate, altitude of 1050 meters. HARVEST TIME AND PROCESSING April 2021. 2-3 slightly open leaves were picked and partly oxidised and has been roasted for two times. Above all, cOMMON BREWING METHOD Water temperature: 100°C Leaf to water ratio: 1g per 100ml. Above all, brewing time: About 2-3 minutes. As a result, tips: Adjust the leaf to water ratio if you prefer to shorten the infusion time or for lighter and stronger palate. Do not leave any water in the pot between each infusion, this is so as not to lose any precious character and prevents a too strong flavour for the next infusion.
